Headquarters, Headquarters Company (HHC) - 1st Aviation Brigade Long Binh and

Saigon, Vietnam 1966-1973

HHC was headquartered in Saigon from May 1966 until August

1967. Then the HQ moved to Long Binh where it remained until

Long Binh was closed in early fall of '72. We then moved to the

MACV compound at Ton Sun Nhut, where HQ stayed until the end.

• Brigade Flight Detachment – Long Binh
• 5^th Aviation Detachment – Vung Tau – This detachment

provided training to pilots on their 2^nd tour including Cobra

transition and instructor pilot training on the Kiowa,

Loach

and Huey. The pilots then went back to their units and trained others.
